Note from Diane the Lady Captain
Dear Friends,
May I take this opportunity of saying thank you for making Captain's Day on Sunday a thoroughly enjoyable day.
We were so lucky with the weather and I did not feel too guilty in sending you out in the odd shower. I hope the course was not too waterlogged.
I would also like to thank my helpers on the day who made the day go so smoothly. Doreen who manned the half-way house, Paul and Jean who supplied lovely sweeties for the table, Frances and Eileen who set out the presentation table, Jackie for preparing the flowers and last but not least Joan for doing the cards. Thanks also to Sandra and her staff for a wonderful meal.
Thank you also for the cards and gifts. It has given me a great lift and a sense of belonging to a great club.
I wish you all good health and good golf for the rest of the season.
Diane
Well done to Mrs Jackie Pickard for having a hole-in-one at the 16th while playing in the Nell Reid Cigarette Box competition.
Congratulations to Mrs Anne Biggs for coming 8th overall in the Senior Ladies SP Championship A with rounds of 79 and 81. This gave her the best score for players aged 65 and over, making her the winner of the Christine Wills Salver.
In the semi-final of the County Championship, Pat was beaten, but congratulations to her for reaching that stage in the competition.
Well done to Mrs Pat McIntosh on reaching the semi-final of the County Championship at South Moor GC today. Pat played matches against Pat Simpson from Brancepeth Castle GC and Lesley Keers from South Moor GC.
Good Luck for the semi-final match starting a 9am on Sunday 13th May when she plays Elie Givens from Blackwell Grange GC.
Congratulations to our new Lady Captain, Diane Cairns who took up her position at the Ladies AGM, followed the next day by her drive in. We also welcome our new Vice Captain, Margaret Richardson. We wish them well in 2007.
